lucaswires@aol.com BioI'm a part-time professional writer, and most everything is my work, but I'm always looking for good stuff to read. All I've written and sold up until recently has been non-fiction but I'm branching out into fiction for the fun of it. What I really like to do is paint, but I'm struggling at learning the craft of writing. Maybe sharing notes will help... can't hurt. I like reading your stuff more than writing my own, I'll say that. If you friend me I'll very likely friend you in return so i can read your stuff. So write something.
I will say although I have "real life" friends, I came into Livejournal not personally knowing one soul that uses it. Everybody is new to me. If I see someone's stuff and like it, I will usually friend that person even if I don't know them. This allows me to have a ready supply of interesting stuff to read when I have time.
Personal stuff for people who are trying to check me out a little:
1. I'm married, old, and not a big conservative like other the old white guys seem to be. I believe that we should all mind our karma carefully. I don't mess around and I don't cause no trouble.
2. I'm sort of Catholic, but not so much as to be annoying.
3. I'm not a young single guy like a lot of people on Livejournal. I love me wife... sorry, ladies, I know that's going to break some hearts! ;-)
4. Occasionally I drunk post, which livens things up a little. I likes me a nip of me Guinness now and then... I have long periods of sobriety in between, or maybe it just seems long.
5. I laid off the hard stuff a long, long time ago. If I could remember anything I'd probably remember it fondly. Except for the parts where I got in trouble.
6. A lot of the writing I post is just plain full of shit. Don't make the mistake of believing me.
7. I love U2, Van Morrison, The Beatles, and Seventies music. And Garbage. Or is it just Shirley?
8. I am a berserk Anglophile. God Save the Queen. My old man was the same way. I ride a 1968 Triumph Bonneville motorcycle.
9. I know a few queens, they're OK with me, too.
10. I have no idea what "emo" is. There's an IMO'S Pizza (pronounced "eee-mose")near my house, though. Probably not the same thing, I'm thinking... man it sucks getting old mainly because of the whole "becoming irrelevant" thing.
